Hi, I’m Aurelija Akelaitis (yes, it’s a bit of a tongue twister!). I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and the founder of LET IT GO.
Many people struggling with food feel stuck in an exhausting mental cycle, constantly thinking about what to eat, trying to stay in “control”, and feeling discouraged when patterns repeat. Often, the real struggle isn’t just food itself, but the emotional stress and self-criticism that come with it.
Personally, I know this struggle from the inside. Twice in my life I've found my way back to health, and not by following another diet. It came from paying attention to what I was thinking and feeling, not only what I was eating.
What I learned in that space between, the learning, the unlearning, and the letting go, is what shaped how I work today. If you're standing in that space right now, I want you to know something: you can find your way through it too, one kind thought at a time.
So, my interest in this work informed by my own experiences deepened my understanding of the emotional side of change, while my work with clients is grounded in professional training, clinical knowledge, and evidence-based psychotherapy.
My approach centers on creating a supportive therapeutic relationship built on trust, collaboration, and open communication. Together, we work toward meaningful and sustainable change.
